How and When I started Dancing:
I started ballet at the age of 3 (1991) with the encouragement of my mother. I started freestyle at the age of 14 (2002) and belly dancing at the age of 17 (2005).

Training Background:
I trained ballet with Lindsay Fothergill School of Dance for 12 years. I have been training at Diana Moore Dance World for freestyle dancing; show dance and belly dancing. Ashleigh Moore and Tarryn Rego have been my respective trainers. I have trained professional/advanced belly dancing with the Hizi-Hizi Troupe under the instruction of Tarryn Rego.

Performance Highlights:
Being a member of SAMOKA entertainment and dancing shows under the SAMOKA brand for Rodizios and Cantare Dinner and Dance (2011-Present).
Performing for the Vodafone Smart tab launch (2012).
Performing for Squad Cars where the launch of the new 16-seater taxi took place (2012).
Performing for the ANC (African National Congress) at Sun City in February 2011.
Performing Greek dancing for the Cypriot Embassy (2011).
Performing in Season 1 and Season 2 of Cairo to Cuba Extravi-Dance held at Cantare Supper Club in Monte Casino (2011).
Performing at The Ridge Casino (Witbank) for the Cleopatra's Gold Draw (2011).
Performing belly dancing in the annual Lusito Land Festival (2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012).
Performing for Coca Cola during the soccer world cup (2010).
Qualifying 4th in South Africa for the WTC (world trial circuit) Show Dance, duos section, in 2009.
Performing for numerous restaurants such as including: Parea, Harbour Restaurant, Mythos, Babylon, Adega, Jimmys Killer Prawns; Platia Emperors Palace; Pappas on the Square; and various Ocean Basket branches such as Lambton; Randburg; Krugersdorp; Killarney; Secunda; Centurion and Meyersdal.
Performing for various corporate functions including: Tiger Brands, Intuate Group, Pastel Accounting; and Vodacom.
Performing for various charity events including: The Lusito Land Festival; the Lebanese Maronite Churches in Woodmead and Aspen Hills and the Hellenic Orthodox Churches in Germiston, Krugersdorp and Springs.

Representing South Africa in 2009 and 2010 in the IDO World Show dance Championships held in Riesa Germany (placing 3rd and 8th respectively).
Performing belly dancing in Zambia (2010, 2012).

Performing on the Horse Racing Channel (DSTV) (2010 & 2011).
Performing for an Eastern fashion show aired on Africa Magic Channel (2010).

Apart From Dancing
Studies & Job:
I completed a BSc. Chemical Engineering Degree in 2010 at the University of the Witwatersrand and I currently work as a Chemical Engineer for Argo Soaps and Chemical Industries, specializing in product and process development.

Other Skills and Achievements:
I have achieved provincial colours for gymnastics and was placed 2nd in the JKA National Karate Championships in 1997.
I achieved full academic colours at Jeppe High School for Girls in 2006 and was placed in the top 10 from 2002 – 2006.
I see dance being used as communication between body and soul, to express what it too deep to find for words. ~Ruth St. Denis
